Springoni 6bar Kit

The Springoni conversion kit turns a La Pavoni* manual lever machine into a spring lever machine.

This means that the function of the lever changes after the conversion. Before the conversion, the lever movement actuates a piston that pushes water through the coffee puck. After the conversion, operating the lever compresses a spring which, once the lever is released, pushes the piston downward and thus forces the water through the puck.

The conversion kit is screwed onto the top of the brew group. Parts of the brew group must be disassembled and possibly reassembled. The conversion is completely reversible.

The pressure curve of the spring is constantly decreasing. At the beginning of the extraction, maximum pressure is applied, which decreases during a normal shot. This means that the more the spring relaxes — as the piston moves downward and pushes water through the puck — the less pressure is applied to the puck. This can help prevent channeling, for example. The spring rating (6 bar, 8 bar) describes the maximum theoretical water pressure applied to the coffee puck. The maximum pressure also depends on the puck resistance, which is influenced, among other things, by the grind size and the basket fill level.

The conversion kit is compatible with pre-millennium and post-millennium La Pavoni machines as long as the brew group has the correct shape:
